A percentage is a way of expressing a proportion out of one hundred. With this tool you can figure out what X% of a total is, what percentage one amount represents of another, or add and subtract percentages (handy for discounts, tips and markups).
Divide the percentage by 100 and multiply by the amount. For example, 15% of 200: (15 ÷ 100) × 200 = 30.
Divide the partial amount by the total and multiply by 100. For example, 30 out of 150: (30 ÷ 150) × 100 = 20%.
Multiply the price by 1 minus the discount as a decimal. For example, a 15% discount on $100: 100 × (1 − 0.15) = $85.
